Terms of Use Agreement
Terms of Use
Version 1.0KJN is operated by KingJu1c3 LLC. These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and KingJu1c3 LLC (“KJN”, “we”). By accessing or using KJN, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use KJN for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for it.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use KJN only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
2. The service
KJN provides online rooms, WebRTC audio and video, messaging, room-wall features, accounts, and related collaboration tools. WebRTC connects peers directly when possible and may use a configured relay. Features and limits may differ by room, account, subscription, device, and node configuration.
3. Accounts and access
You are responsible for safeguarding your password, recovery codes, cryptographic keys, invite links, and devices. Do not share credentials that grant authority you do not intend to share. Tell us promptly if you believe your account or credentials have been compromised.
Usernames are permanent. You cannot change your username after you create your account, and once an account is deleted its username is retired: no one, including you, can register it again. This keeps what was posted under a name attributable to the person who posted it.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use KJN to break the law; harm, threaten, exploit, or harass others; distribute malware; obtain unauthorized access; interfere with the service; evade access or usage controls; impersonate another person; or upload content you do not have the right to use. We may limit or end access when reasonably necessary to protect people, the service, or the law.
5. Your content
You retain your rights in content you submit. You give KJN the limited permission needed to transmit, display, store, and process your content to operate the features you choose. You are responsible for your content and for having the rights and permissions needed to share it.
Wall posts and direct messages are part of a shared record. If you delete your account, your Wall posts stay under your username for as long as their room keeps posts (a permanent room keeps them; a temporary room removes them on its own timer), and messages you sent stay with the people you sent them to. The permission above continues for that content after your account is deleted. KJN removes content whenever the law requires it, and you can ask for removal for legal reasons at hello@kjn.app.
6. Other people's content
KJN carries conversations between people. Messages, wall posts, room names, display names, and anything else a member contributes are the work of the member who contributed them — not of KJN. They do not represent the views, opinions, or positions of KJN, its operators, or anyone else using the service, and KJN does not endorse, verify, or vouch for them.
You may encounter content you find offensive, inaccurate, or objectionable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, KJN is not responsible or liable for content created, posted, or shared by members, or for what any member does with content they receive here. Your dealings with other members are between you and them.
KJN may screen, refuse, remove, or restrict content and may suspend accounts under the acceptable-use section above. It is not obliged to, and it does not review everything. Moderation is best effort; the absence of action is not approval, and the presence of a filter is not a guarantee that anything harmful was caught.
Direct messages are not routinely screened. A peer-to-peer Direct message is not automatically mirrored to the application hub. When you choose Report, however, you explicitly send the selected content, its context, and packet receipts to a private operator queue for review. Block immediately hides the selected UUID's existing and future Room, Wall, and Direct content in the browser and asks the hub to withhold future contact. Verified-account blocks can follow that account; guest blocks follow the signed browser UUID, so a genuinely new identity may not match the old block.
A limit worth stating plainly: KJN cannot see every room message. A no-history room seals a message between participants only while every current participant supports the sealing format and the room stays within its recipient limit. After a message is sent, the room UI reports that state. When sealed, the service holds ciphertext and cannot read or screen the message; when the state falls back, the hub can read it while the room is live. Rooms with history on are server-readable, as is the Wall. A user-chosen Report can still send selected content from a sealed room or P2P Direct thread for private review.
To report content, use the in-product Report action, or email hello@kjn.app. In-product intake requires a verified account or signed browser identity; an unsigned legacy browser can still Block locally but must use email if signed intake is unavailable. Reported text is a reporter-supplied allegation: packet receipts can link identifiers and signatures, but do not independently prove what every peer saw. A receipt confirms private queue intake only. It does not promise a response, outcome, or enforcement.
7. Rooms, retention, and privacy
Room settings affect access and retention, but no online room should be treated as absolutely confidential. Direct-message storage and WebRTC connection paths depend on this node's configuration. The Privacy Policy served by this node explains its current handling. Other participants may record, copy, or reshare what they receive.
Private rooms: only people with a private room's invite (and its room code, when it has one) can enter it. KJN's operator, founder account and staff have no way around that, with one exception: to review content someone has reported, a person KJN has given report-review authority (today, its founder and the Lead Node Delegate) may open a safety review pass for that one room, lasting at most 30 minutes. The reviewer is shown to everyone in the room, every pass is logged, and the room's owner can see each pass issued for it.
8. KJN materials
Except for your content and third-party materials, KJN and its licensors retain their rights in the service, software, designs, names, logos, and documentation. These terms do not grant a right to use KJN branding or to copy the service beyond what is necessary to use it.
9. Paid features
Paid plans may provide higher limits or additional features. Prices, renewal terms, cancellation options, and any refund terms presented at purchase control that transaction. Paid features are available only when offered and successfully activated. Usage limits still apply where disclosed.
Paid subscriptions are sold through Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record and reseller for KJN orders and handles payment, billing, taxes, and invoicing. Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to the purchase. For refunds and cancellation, see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
10. Third-party services
KJN may rely on hosting, STUN or TURN connectivity, payment processing, and other third-party services. Their services may have separate terms and privacy practices. KJN is not responsible for third-party services it does not control.
11. Service availability and changes
KJN may change, suspend, or discontinue features and may experience outages or data loss. We work to operate the service reliably, but do not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, or that every device and network will connect successfully.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using KJN at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account or access to all or part of the service at any time, at our sole discretion, with or without cause and with or without notice — including, without limitation, for a material breach of these terms, a security risk, unlawful use, or conduct that threatens the service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 13–16) continue to apply.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory — including, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement — to the fullest extent permitted by law. KJN does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that content will be preserved. Applicable law may give you rights that these terms cannot limit.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, KJN and its operators, officers, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages, and regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise). To the fullest extent permitted by law, KJN's total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the service is capped at the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100) or the amounts you paid KJN for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless KJN and its operators, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use or misuse of the service; (b) content you submit, post, or transmit through the service; (c) your violation of these terms; or (d) your violation of any law or of any rights of a third party. KJN may assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which case you agree to cooperate with that defense.
16. Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the service, are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Binding individual arbitration. Except as provided below, you and KJN agree to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service through final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration will be conducted in the State of California, United States, or remotely by videoconference where the rules allow, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Class action waiver. You and KJN each agree that disputes may be brought only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of class or representative proceeding.
Carve-outs. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court where it qualifies, and either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property or for unauthorized access to the service. Any dispute not subject to arbitration will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of California, and you and KJN consent to their jurisdiction and venue.
Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement and class action waiver by emailing hello@kjn.app within 30 days of first accepting these terms, stating your account name and that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these terms.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be identified by a new version number or another reasonable notice. Continuing to use KJN after updated terms take effect means you accept them where permitted by law. If you do not agree to an update, stop using the service.
